Second Story Deck Build- Accokeek, Maryland
At 7th State Builders, we take pride in our work and we love sharing our success stories. One of our more recent projects was a deck build on a house in Accokeek, Maryland in Prince George’s County. This was a complete second story deck project that took just two days to build and finish. Read on to learn about this extraordinary project as well as many more to come.
Before
Before we got started on the new deck, 7th State Builders helped gain approval from the Home Owner’s Association (HOA), as well as acquire county permits. In turn, this helped to ensure that the homeowners were in compliance with the neighborhood’s remodeling regulations. As mentioned previously, it only took our team a couple of days to complete the new second-story deck. Check out the amazing before and after shots of the home.
After
Throughout the deck-building process, we used treated lumber, black aluminum balusters, and composite top railing materials. Keep in mind that the homeowner did not want to go with composite decking floors as she preferred the natural look of real wood. Not to mention, composite decking material does have a tendency to get hot on bare feet.
Moreover, you may notice that there are no stairs connected to the deck. The owner of the home did not want to add them for personal safety purposes. However, we like to think the deck looks great without them. All in all, upon completion of the project, the homeowners now have a spacious place to rest and unwind while overlooking their backyard. There’s a lot to be proud of on this one!
